Roughly estimated, over 35,000 Viennese have already been tested for the corona virus in the first test street.
The City of Vienna offers corona and antibody tests in the new test street on the Danube island. Viennese with mild or unclear symptoms are allowed to come to the drive-in by car.
Vienna. Because of the great rush at the Corona Test Street, Mayor Michael Ludwig (SPÖ) announced a second one on Friday. On Wednesday, the Danube Island has been leaked as a location and tomorrow, Thursday, it will be opened. New is that also persons with symptoms are allowed to drive to the Floridsdorfer test road – after a call at 1450. And what the city of Vienna is hiding until the opening: Besides the free gargle test there is also an antibody blood test, as the “press” learned from the Samariterbund.
Originally, the free corona tests in the Ernst Happel Stadium were only intended for those Viennese who were on vacation abroad and did not show any symptoms. At the end of the vacation season, the permit was extended in September to include returnees from other federal states (after a stay of at least four days) and contact persons of positively tested persons.
The offer of the new test road on the Danube Island (access road at the Floridsdorf Bridge) is also directed at persons with their main residence in Vienna who have been in contact with an infected person.
